FIRE Foundry Program

The FIRE Foundry Organization is a workforce development program designed to support recruits through career exploration in fire services while strengthening their competitiveness for future employment as firefighters or in related careers in medicine, public safety, and environmental conservation in Marin County.

College of Marin is a partner to the FIRE Foundry Organization where recruits can take prerequisite courses for fire academies and paramedic schools, obtain career counseling, and enroll in physical education classes in order to prepare to apply to and enroll in a Fire Academy. In addition, we work with UC Berkeley, NASA, local fire stations, and private organizations to provide additional educational opportunities to bolster your resume, give you additional skills, and prepare you to use the emerging technologies that will serve future firefighters.

Education is a key requirement in order to participate in the FIRE Foundry program. Once you're admitted to the program, you'll apply and enroll at the College of Marin if you aren't already. Counselors with College of Marin and the FIRE Foundry team will work with you in order understand where you are on your pathway to full-time fire service and recommend the appropriate course work for you to enroll in. Our support teams will work together to ensure that you've applied for Federal Aid for your education and FIRE Foundry will cover any additional costs associated with course work that's recommended for you.
